Abstract. This paper provides a software review over a software package called Theorist. The author covers a variety of operations and calculations that can be performed using this program, including integration, differentiation, and algebraic manipulation. One of the major features that sets Theorist apart from other programs is a powerful notebook features allowing instructors to create various versions of notebooks for grading and version control. Furthermore, Theorist supports computations with exact, rational results. This simplifies the grading process greatly from an instructor perspective. The customization options provided by Theorist support a variety of teaching styles. The author concludes that this program provides an excellent teaching tool that any instructor would be wise to include in their instructional repertoire. Samuel C. Jentsch, Stephen F.
