Abstract: This Paper is all about trying to solve second differential equations using some less used methods such as factorization. Factorization is the process of splitting 1 second order differential equation into 2 first order differential equations. Now we see that there are multiple times when factorization can be used to solve second order differential equation. Some different examples of equations that can be factored are equations with constant coefficents, exact equations, and different situations involving the Riccati Equation. Overall this paper is just an informative paper on some of the different second order differential equations that can be factored. Anthony Phillips, Stephen F. Austin State University, May 2, 2017.
